Drawing Fundamentals
Do you want to improve your artistic abilities but need better basic drawing skills? Begin with drawing fundamentals- proportion, line, value and negative space. Use nature, still life and portraits as the subject matter while you explore the elements and concepts of drawing in this fun class. We will use charcoal, pastels, pencils, watercolor pencils, pens and anything else that can leave a mark to create exciting drawings. Materials list. No class February 20 and March 12.

Basic Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain
Learn basic drawing techniques utilizing ‘right brain’ or right cognitive learning techniques. Basic use of line, shape, space, value, texture and form will be taught in this hands-on course. You will also learn concentration on practical exercises in drawing utilizing gesture, contour, blind contour and negative space visualization. Finally, this course will concentrate on still life – practical and abstracted to develop sighting techniques using a simple approach to media. You must be 18 years or older to enroll. New! Introduction to Asian Brush Painting
In this class, you will be exposed to history, concepts, principles, materials and techniques of Asian Brush Painting. Emphasis will be on the use of traditional Asian brushes and ink while learning and applying basic strokes and painting techniques. Novice Watercolor: The Beginning
This class is for the very beginning watercolor artist. Introduction to Oil Painting
If you ever wanted to learn how to paint with oils, this class is for you. We will discuss the brushes, paints, painting mediums, palettes, supports and other important basics. There will be demonstrations of various techniques such as dry brush, painting on toned ground, all prima painting, working with painting knives and glazing with an overview of color basics (value, hue, saturation and temperature) and elements of composition. Create Your Own Fresh Floral Arrangements
Wow your guests at any occasion! Learn the ‘tricks of the trade’ in a fun and relaxed atmosphere where you can create beautiful fresh floral arrangements, even if you don’t consider yourself crafty. Understand and implement proper carving and sanding techniques, and gain knowledge about wood sealants and their application through this creative process.
