Course Syllabus: Bob
RossÒ
Wet-on-Wet Oil Painting
Instructor: Stephanie
Denny, Certified Bob RossÒ
Instructor
Project:
“Sedona Spring”
Outline:
This class will teach the basics of the Bob
RossÒ
wet-on-wet oil painting technique. As
seen on the PBS “Joy of Painting” program, this technique is easy to learn –
even for beginners. Students will
complete an entire painting in one class.
Class will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Please
plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before class to set up your workstation.
Visit http://SteviePaints.com to see a short
video that explains the supplies needed for a Bob Ross class.
For best results, Bob RossÒ
brushes, oil paints, and odorless thinner are recommended. These supplies may be purchased at most arts
& crafts stores. Students may bring
other brands of paints or brushes, but success with this method cannot be
guaranteed.
Note: It’s very important to bring all the supplies listed. If you don’t bring all the paint colors, you
may not be able to complete the painting.
The instructor does not sell
or have any extra supplies, and the instructor is not responsible if
you can’t find all the paint colors or other supplies.
Don’t
wait until the day before class to buy your supplies. If you do, it’s likely you won’t be able to
find everything you need. You may
need to go to more than one store to find all the supplies. If you can’t find all the required Bob Ross
paint colors, buy another brand of oil color – but don’t come to class without all required supplies.
If
you purchase a Bob Ross Master Paint Kit, it won’t contain Yellow Ochre or Dark
Sienna, which are both needed for this
painting. You need to purchase them
separately, or just do without them; but the instructor will not supply them.
