PVCC Division of Continuing Education welcomes you to “In the Midst of Winter.”
Instructor: Stephanie Denny, Certified Bob Ross Instructor
Outline:
This class will teach the basics of the Bob Ross wet-on-wet oil painting technique. As seen on the PBS “Joy of Painting” program, this technique is easy to learn – even for beginners. Students will complete an entire painting in one class. The project is “In the Midst of Winter”, in which dozens of shades of blues create this sparkling landscape painting of a barn in a snow-covered clearing.
Class will begin promptly at 8:10 a.m. Please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before class to set up your workstation.
Note: For best results, Bob Ross brushes and oil paints are recommended. These supplies may be purchased at Michaels Arts & Crafts stores (but don’t wait until the last minute – buy your supplies early, as these products sell out quickly). Students may bring other brands of paints or brushes, but success with other brands cannot be guaranteed.
Rental of certain supplies for the class is available for a fee of $20.00. This is a package rental fee, and none of the items may be rented separately. The rental package includes:
If you rent the supplies, you still need to bring your own 18x24 canvas or 16x20 if you prefer.
