This position will support the Center for Employee & Organizational Learning Centerby greeting visitors, providing ongoing logistical and technical support to assist with college and employee learning programs, activities and workshops.  Applicant should be interesting in learning more about program management, student, employee and organizational development, sustainability, positive social change and connecting with our communities and in the development of their own skills in these areas.

Job Duties: Tutor students individually and in small groups in course concepts for MAT through calculus 1 (MAT220), physics, chemistry, and biology. Provide reinforcement and practice of course material, aid in the comprehension of course material, and offer test reviews as needed.

Qualifications:

· Earned a grade of A or B in subject courses and carry a minimum 3.0 overall GPA

· Must be recommended by subject faculty if a student applicant

· Must work well with students from varied backgrounds, age groups, and skill levels

· Must be patient and have a strong desire to help students

· Must have strong communication skills

· Must attend LSC’s CRLA level-1 tutor training the semester hired

· Received an average grade of A (3.4-4.0) in ENG 101 and 102 and carry a minimum 3.0 overall GPA

· Must know APA Style and MLA Style

· Must work well with students from varied backgrounds, age groups, and skill levels

Job Summary: Performs routine and special cleaning of facilities: sweeps, mops, scrubs, and waxes floor surfaces of many types; vacuums rugs and shampoos carpets; dusts, waxes, washes, and polishes furniture and woodwork; cleans walls, blackboards and empties wastebaskets; cleans restrooms, locker rooms and showers; washes windows, cleans vents and changes light bulbs; arranges furniture and equipment for special activities; assists in moving heavy objects; inspects buildings and grounds for broken equipment or vandalism and reports the need for repairs; empties trash and garbage cans; sweeps concrete surfaces; performs minor maintenance tasks to keep assigned area safe and functional; locks and unlocks windows and doors; assists crafts workers with routine tasks as requested; participates in intensive cleaning and simple maintenance activities during vacation periods, which may include stripping and resurfacing gymnasium floors, refinishing other floor surfaces, painting and preparing surfaces for painting, washing walls, and moving furniture; performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge of: industrial cleaning methods and supplies; common tools and their uses. Ability to: follow written and verbal instructions; perform assigned tasks without immediate supervision; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

Job Title: Painter

Job Summary:  Performs skilled painting of buildings, furniture, and related equipment.  This position works in the area of Maintenance & Operations; work contacts may include staff, administrators, faculty, students, and the general public. Equipment used includes airless sprayer, paint sprayer, parking lot striper, boom truck, scaffold, paint brushes, rollers, ladders, and various hand tools. Mixes and matches paint; applies paints, varnishes, stains, lacquers and enamels to building interiors and exteriors, furniture and equipment; applies paints by brush, roller or spray machines to variety of surfaces; does line striping of parking lots, and lanes; does sign painting and stencil painting of curbs, roads, signs and doors; erects scaffolding and removes or covers objects to protect from splattered paint; prepares surfaces by scraping, burning, sanding, filling or washing, and by patching holes and cracks; cleans brushes and ensures that tools and equipment are properly maintained; requisitions painting supplies; performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  Knowledge of: methods, materials and equipment used in the painting trade; basic qualities, uses, and adaptability of various paints and fillers used throughout the college and district.  Ability to: mix and match paints; blend, harmonize color; apply paints by brush, roller, or spray guns; use maintenance tools; prepare and work from ladders and scaffolds; follow written and verbal instructions and work cooperatively with others. Must have a journeyman card.  Ability to: follow written and verbal instructions; perform assigned tasks without immediate supervision; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
