Greetings all,

As we draw near to the end of the 2008 - 2009 fiscal year, I'd like to share a brief update on the status of the FY10 PVCC budget.

1. BDST's recommendations for funding allocations for FY10 have been reviewed and approved with several minor adjustments. The PVCC Fiscal Office will begin the process of notifying departments of their FY10 allocations soon.

2. Based on recent enrollment growth, PVCC has been allocated funds for two new faculty lines for FY10 and these funds can be used only for faculty hires. PVCC will fill these two positions. Dr. Mary Lou Mosley will convene the Faculty Staffing Committee to begin the process.

3. As of today, the State has not finalized the FY10 budget. At this time the recommended cuts for community colleges are basically the same in the House, Senate and Governor's Budgets. Should the projected reductions hold, PVCC will not experience additional budget cuts in FY10. Please note that until the State balances FY09 and finalizes the FY10 budgets, changes in our funding are still possible.

4. It is highly likely that MCCD will receive Federal economic stimulus funding, although the amount and criteria are yet to be finalized.
