The athletics program at Paradise Valley Community College began in fall 1995 with three men’s sports (cross country, golf and tennis) and two women’s sports (cross country and tennis). Since that time the college has added three additional sports for men (soccer, track & field and baseball) and four for women (golf, soccer, softball and track & field). PVCC has expanded its facilities to meet the new and growing programs.
The track & field/soccer facility was added in 2000. The soccer field was dedicated in 2005 to Cindy Shoenhair, PVCC’s first athletic director. Most recently PVCC added an on-campus baseball facility, which was completed in fall 2008. PVCC also has six tennis courts, an athletic training room and athletic weight room.
Most of PVCC’s athletic facilities are open to the public unless being utilized by PVCC Athletics or those with rental agreements on file. For specific group events, repetitive group usage or private lessons, the facilities must be rented. Rental fees range from $10-$75 per hour depending on the facility.
