Bill Hart began as the Interim Associate Dean of Student Affairs on December 1, 2008. He came to Paradise Valley Community College from GateWay Community College where he had served for over four years as the Director of College Educational Services, overseeing the Learning Center, Computer Commons, and the Adult Basic Education Transitions Program.
Bill received his Bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1971, and his Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University in 1993. He currently is a member of the MCCD cohort pursuing his Ed.D. in educational leadership.
During his career Bill has taught public school, been an adjunct faculty member at South Mountain Community College, directed the JOBS program for Rio Salado College, taught in Skill Centers in Iowa and in Phoenix, directed a vocational testing program, owned and operated a restaurant for ten years, and served as the Director of Program Improvement for the Arizona Department of Education in the Adult Education Division for seven years.
He is the recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Arizona Association of Lifelong Learning and serves on the Advisory Board for the adult education program at Arizona-Call-A-Teen. Aside from education, Bill’s passion is for the Colombian Children’s Education Foundation, which he founded with two others to provide education for a group of orphans in a home in Cali, Colombia. Bill currently is the President of the foundation.
