About ACE

ACE Program Mission Statement

The mission of the ACE (Achieving a College Education) Program is to help students make a smooth transition from high school, through community college, and transfer to a university where they can complete a baccalaureate degree.

ACE Program Goals

  • To demystify higher education, its requirements, costs and benefits.
  • To familiarize students with college life.
  • To provide tools for students to succeed socially, academically, and personally.
  • To assist students in identifying educational, career, and vocational goals and interests.
  • To identify sources of financial assistance and scholarships and facilitate students in the application process.
  • To empower parents/guardians to become actively involved in students' education and future.
  • To collaborate with local educational institutions, community partnerships, and the private sector.
  • To provide continuous follow-up and support to each cohort which will ensure retention and tracking.

ACE Results

  • Beginning with the 2001 Cohort:
    • On average, 83% of ACE students graduated from high school.
    • On average, 76% of the ACE students were retained in the ACE program.
    • Students retained earned an average 20.5 college credits while in high school.
    • Students who completed just the first year of the program earned an average of 7.1 college credits.
  • 2006 High School Graduate Survey:
    • ACE students graduating from high school in 2006 had an average high school GPA of 3.12
    • 83% of ACE students graduated early or on time in 2006.
